Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has debunked claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that the party played a role in his re-election victory in the just concluded governorship election.

In a statement issued on Monday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor said he had no electoral deal, alliance, or partnership with the ADC before, during, or after the election.

Governor Adeleke attributed his victory to God Almighty and the people of Osun State, stressing that his win was the product of a broad-based coalition of political partners who worked for the progress of the state.

“I commend political partners who went all out to make Saturday a victory day for all Osun people. But we must clarify for the sake of history that ADC was never part of the alliance,” the Governor was quoted as saying.

He further stated that now that the election is over, his administration remains committed to serving all residents of Osun irrespective of political affiliation, religion, or ethnicity.

“Now that the election is over, I am a governor of all Osun people irrespective of political groups, religion or race,” he added.

The clarification comes after the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, claimed in a viral video that the party had “tactically worked” with the Adeleke administration to stop the APC in Osun.

The claim sparked reactions across the state, with many questioning the source of the over 17,000 votes garnered by the ADC in the election.

Governor Adeleke’s re-election has been widely celebrated across Osun as a testament to unity, resilience, and the people’s mandate.
