Governor Adeleke Receives Certificate of Return Tomorrow

The incumbent and Governor-elect of Osun state,Senator Nurudeen Jakson Ademola Adeleke will be presented with the certificate of return after being declared winner of the just concluded gubernatorial elections in the state.
The event, according to a release signed by the state spokesman of the commission ,Mr Musa Olurode will hold at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osogbo on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
The presentation ceremony is expected to be attended by his cabinet members and Accord party loyalists
Recall that Governor Adeleke had 511,067 votes while his main challenger, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji of the APC got 444,815 votes.
ADC candidate, Hon Najeem Salam polled 17180, votes, Adeagbo Opawoye Yemisi had 2,945 votes, Adeyemi Olusanya 1,474 votes, Adeleke Adesoji, 111 votes. Adeleke Taofeeq of NNPP, 118 votes while the SDP candidate, Dr. Francis Olugbenga Ajala, who was officially recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) three days to the election, got 155 votes.
Senator Ademola Adeleke, a former senator, who was sworn in as the sixth executive governor of Osun state on Sunday, November 27 2022 has been re-elected for another term of four years.
