The APC candidate in the August 15, 2026 Osun State Governorship Election, Hon. Bola Oyebamiji, has addressed party leaders and supporters, accepting the outcome of the poll while condemning the violence that trailed the election.
In a statement to APC members in the state on Friday, Oyebamiji expressed appreciation to all who stood by his aspiration, describing their sacrifices and belief in the party’s “Prosperity Agenda” as indelible.
“I am deeply grateful to every one of you who stood by our aspiration throughout the journey. Your sacrifices, resilience, prayers and unwavering belief in our Prosperity Agenda will remain indelible in my heart,” he said.
He also acknowledged the support of key party leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; former Governor Bisi Akande, CFR; and former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, for their guidance and commitment to the progress of the party and the state.
CALL FOR JUSTICE
While congratulating the winner of the election, Oyebamiji said the party could not ignore the “painful incidents of violence and the lives that were lost.”
“I mourn every victim of political violence and stand in solidarity with their families. I call on the relevant security agencies to thoroughly investigate these incidents and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. No political contest should cost any Nigerian their life,” he stated.
He added that where there were legitimate concerns, the party would continue to seek justice and fairness through lawful and constitutional means.
FOCUS ON 2027
The APC candidate urged supporters not to be discouraged but to remain calm, united and resolute, while keeping faith in democracy and its institutions.
He called on party members to begin mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election, with an immediate focus on the re-election of President Tinubu and the success of all APC candidates in Osun.
“The 2026 governorship election has come and gone, but our commitment to Osun remains unwavering… Our immediate responsibility is to mobilise for the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the success of all our candidates in Osun State,” Oyebamiji said.
He reaffirmed that the party’s “Prosperity Agenda” remains alive and that the dream of a greater Osun was unwavering.
“Our journey continues… With faith, unity and determination, we will continue to work for an Osun where opportunities are accessible to all, resources are equitably deployed and governance truly serves the people,” he concluded.
