The Apostolic Church Nigeria TACN has entered a new chapter in its national leadership transition as the newly elected national principal officers have been confirmed to assume duty in their various offices, following a constitutional provision that enables a structured and seamless handover process within the Church.

This development was conveyed to the Church through a circular signed by the outgoing National Secretary, Pastor Dr. M. F. Olumbo and was said to have taken place during the June 2025 session of the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held in Lagos, June 3rd – 5th 2025, where the newly elected officers were symbolically seated and empowered to begin discharging their duties immediately while awaiting the formal induction on 3rd August, 2025.

The action was in line with the Church’s constitution, which mandates that incoming principal officers begin their duty from a given period leading to their formal induction.

By this development, Pastor Dr. L. O. Oladele has assumed the office of the substantive National President, succeeding Pastor (Dr.) S. E. Igwe, the outgoing National President. Similarly, Pastor E. U. Johnson now functions as the substantive National Vice President, succeeding Pastor (Dr.) S. G. O. Uyeh, the outgoing National Vice President while Pastor Prof. B. B. Fakae takes on responsibilities as the National Secretary. Other principal officers, duly elected, have also taken up their respective positions substantively.

As constitutionally required, the outgoing principal officers have proceeded on a terminal leave to enable a smooth and uninterrupted transfer of leadership. This transitional phase does not only offer space for the incoming officers to settle into their responsibilities but also preserves the spiritual and administrative integrity of the Church’s national leadership.

Information made available through the Chairman, National Media Committee of the Church, Pastor J. O. Okah, has it that the official inauguration of the new executive is scheduled for 3rd of August 2025 during the forthcoming LAWNA Territorial International Convention, where they will be ceremonially inducted as the substantive National Principal Officers of The Apostolic Church Nigeria.

This orderly transition affirms the maturity, spiritual discipline, and institutional strength of the Church’s leadership. It reinforces the Church’s commitment to structured leadership succession, due process, unity, and continuity in its divine mandate.
This bold compliance to the constitution by the NEC came with a directive to all Territories with pending issues of leadership transition to ensure that elections are conducted and officers are inducted IMMEDIATELY in compliance to the Church’s constitutional provisions on tenure of offices and age of retirement.
Members of the Church across all Territories, Fields, Areas, Districts and Assemblies are encouraged to uphold the new leadership in prayers and unwavering support, as they prepare to lead the Church with reverence to God while upholding the glorious vision, growth, and administrative excellence of The Apostolic Church Nigeria.

In his acceptance speech the new National President, Pastor Dr. L. O. Oladele promised to uphold the Tenets of the church and to lead the church along with his team, to greater heights.
Also, Pastor (Dr.) S. E. Igwe prayed for the new leaders after thanking God and appreciating NEC members for their support during his just concluded eight years of presidency in TACN.
It could be recalled that in February 2025, the National Council of the church convened and successfully conducted a national election that produced the new principal officers of the Church. Those elected included Pastor Dr. L. O. Oladele as National President, Pastor E. U. Johnson as National Vice President, Pastor Prof. B. B. Fakae as National Secretary, Pastor Isaac Awotanmi, Ph.D, as Deputy National Secretary and Pastor Odionka Nyong as the National Finance Secretary with Pastor S. A. Ogu as Deputy Financial Secretary. Their emergence through this spiritually guided electoral process marked a significant milestone in the Church’s journey of leadership succession and Apostolic order.
