Osun State PCRC Chairman Leads Executives on Courtesy Visit to New Commissioner of Police

The State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Osun State Chapter Comrade Sola Okekunle, has led members of the State Executive Council, alongside the Zone 11 Chairman, Otunba Obafemi Arowosola on a courtesy visit to the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, CP Ibrahim Umar, at his office shortly after the State General Meeting.

 

This is contained on a statement signed by Dr. Abdulrasaki Olanrewaju Ejalonibu SSA on Media to the Osun State PCRC Chairman.

 

During the visit, the State PCRC Chairman warmly welcomed and congratulated CP Ibrahim Umar on his assumption of office. He assured the new Commissioner of the committee’s continued support and cooperation towards strengthening security, promoting peace, and ensuring the safety of residents across Osun State.

 

The Chairman emphasized the importance of a strong partnership between the Police and PCRC, noting that effective community policing requires cooperation, mutual respect, and active participation from all stakeholders.

 

In his response, CP Ibrahim Umar appreciated the PCRC leadership for the visit and assured the committee of his commitment to working closely with PCRC across the state.

 

The Commissioner further assured the PCRC that all Area Command and Divisional PCRC structures in Osun State would be duly recognized and respected, and that members would be identified through their valid PCRC identity cards.

 

He encouraged PCRC members to continue supporting the Police Command by promoting peace, providing useful information, and strengthening the relationship between the police and the communities they serve.

 

The visit ended on a positive note, with both the Police Command and PCRC leadership reaffirming their commitment to peace, security, community partnership, and the overall development of Osun State.
