Osun NIPR Honours Director in Osun State LGSC.

An employee of the Osun State Local Government Service Commission, and a Director of Social development, Information, Education, youth sports and culture attached to Olorunda Local Government of Osun State, comrade Bukola Elufadejin has been honoured with the award for Outstanding Local Government Information Officer of the Year by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Osun State Chapter.
Presenting the award of excellence to him in the presence of the Governor of Osun State Dr Jackson Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, Mrs. Jolaade Igbaroola,Director in OSBC charged comrade Elufadejin not to relent in his efforts to promote the activities in the local government to the world, along with his colleagues in line with civil service regulations.
Comrade Elufadejin who received Chairmans award from the Nigeria Union of Journalists Osun State Council last year was full of praises and adoration to God Almighty for the award.
Earlier, the Osun State Governor, Senator Jackson Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke who was represented by the commissioner of information and Enlightenment Barr. Kolapo Alimi was honoured as the Patron of the Institute.
He urged the Institute to increase their activities in promoting the image of governments to the acceptability of all and sundry, as he used the occasion to enumerate some achievements of his administration in less than two years.
The Commissioner, thanked the NIPR adding that the important role of managing information between organisations, the public and the state at large is being appreciated
In his speech, the Chairman of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Osun State chapter, Prince Ademola Adesoji charged members to be up and doing in managing the positive image of the country, not promoting the negative aspect of the nation alone.
“I urge you not to relent in ensuring that we protect the good image of our state and institute. We should ensure that while others see only bad things about our state and nation, we should see the positive aspect and try to change the orientation of the people about Nigeria at large”.
” I know that things may seem tough right now, but by contributing our quota as citizens and being the change that we want to see ,the country would get back on its feet and reclaim its glory days’,the statement added.
Speaking on behalf of other award recipients, Head, of the Corporate Commission of Polaris Bank, Mr Rasheed Bolarinwa said the award will spur them to do more as the image makers of their various organizations.
Mr Rasheed who could not hide his joy, appreciated the Osun State Chapter of NIPR for counting him worthy of the award, he promised to come to the aid of the institute in building the state secretariat of the institute.
He said: “I feel very happy to receive this award. I have received the same award from the Lagos and Ogun chapters of NIPR, but getting from my home state is the greatest joy for me’.
He added that he would continue to be a very good ambassador of Osun State and continue to excel in the practice of Public Relations.
“When you are recognized by your professional organization, what it does is that you are tasked to do more.”,he added
In his speech at the occasion, Chief Diran Odeyemi who was one of the awardees, Charged the Public Relations Practitioners to stop polishing bad eggs among the politicians.
Chief Diran Odeyemi who is also the Chairman of the Governing Council Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke, stressed that misinforming the electorate brings about bad governance
