Osogbo Local Government Shows Support for Fire-Ravaged Church

The management of Osogbo Local Government, accompanied by former political office holders, paid a visit to Christ Apostolic Church Oke Oriire in Fiwasaye Area, ward 14, to commiserate with the church over the loss of its mission house and valuable properties in a fire incident in December 2024.

During the visit, the Director of Finance, Mrs. Adediran Olubunmi, expressed gratitude to God for sparing lives during the inferno. She also appreciated the management and former executive members of Osogbo Local Government for their show of love and support.

The former Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Rasheed Saheed, prayed for God’s intervention to put an end to such unfortunate incidents. Mr. Wasiu Adegbite described the visit as a “dividend of democracy” that should be enjoyed by residents.

The Head of Local Government Administration, Prince Kolawole Adejorin, appreciated the opportunity to serve effectively and commended the former chairman’s concern for the communities in the local government area. He mentioned the opening and supply of drugs to the primary health care in Fiwasaye community and the sinking of a borehole in ward 14, which is yet to be completed.

The former secretary presented a cheque to the church on behalf of the management of Osogbo Local Government. The Pastor of Christ Apostolic Church, Pst. J.O. Olajide, expressed gratitude for the gift and prayed for the management, government of Osogbo, and Nigeria.

The program ended with a closing prayer by Elder David Adejumo. Also in attendance were the PDP Osogbo Local Government Party Auditor, Mrs Toyin Adebayo, Director of Works and Transport, Engr. Adeolu Olaoye, and the Director of Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Mrs. Olukemi Olayiwola.
