Gov Adeleke Creates Additional Department in Local Government Service of Osun

Department of Information Youth Sports and Culture has finally taken off.
There was a significant change today on the successful take off of the Department of Information, Youth, Sports and Culture.
It is indeed a remarkable day in all the Local Governments, Local Council Development Areas and Area Offices in the state as the newly posted Directors of Information, Youth Sports and Culture reported at their different stations according to the posting instructions from the Local Government Service Commission.
It will be recalled that the agitation for the establishment of the Department of Information has been on for long without success until recently when Hon. Oladimeji presented a bill at the floor of Osun State House of Assembly stating the importance of creation of the department and it’s numerous benefits to the state at large.
The bill was presented at the floor of the House of Assembly under the leadership of the Hon. Speaker RT Hon. Olumide Egbedun.
After scaling through in the Hose,it was forwarded to the Executive Governor ,Senator Ademola Adeleke for his assent.
Within few weeks the Governor assented the bill and the policy was implemented by Local Government Service Commission.
he importance of the Department of Information, Youth, Sports and Culture cannot be over emphasised.
It’s creation will definitely bring government closer to the people at the grassroots where citizenry would be more informed, educated and enlightened on the policies and programmes of government.
Also, the new Department will usher in good rapport between the Government and the electorates, fosters unprecedented growth and development among the Youth, assist a great deal in the Area of encouraging the Youth to develop interest in sports and promoting the values of our culture.
