Gov Adeleke Approves Department of Information in Osun State Local Government Service

Department of Information, Youth ,Sports, and Culture has been created and put in operation in the Local Government Service of Osun State.

This is as a result of release of posting of the first set of Directors of the department by Local Government Service Commission,Osogbo on Friday.

This land mark achievement was made possible through the passage of a bill for. Creation of the department from the old Department of Social development,Information,Youth, Sports and Culture by Osun State House of Assembly and subsequent approval by the Executive Governor of Osun State,Senator Ademola Adeleke in August.

The posting instruction signed by Director of appointment ,Promotion and Discipline,Mrs E O Ajibade and released on Friday, December 27, 2024,directed all affected officers to resume immediately ,

Earlier,the permanent Secretary of the Commission,Mrs Modupe Irelewuyi had charged all information officers to reciprocate the good gesture of the state Governor by contributing meaningfully to the development of the state.
through proper information management.

One of the newly posted director,Mrs Ramota Oyewale stated that he was warmly received by other directors and was taken round the premises of the council secretariat.

The Chairman Forum of Head of Local Government Administration,Dr Wale Adedapo assured the officers in the newly created department that his colleagues in all the Local Government,Local Council Development Areas and Area Council in the state would provide enabling environment for the new department to thrive

The Old department has also been renamed Department of Community Development,Education Social welfare,Women and Children Affairs and Directors were also posted out immediately.

The Chairman,of the defunct department,Prince Shadrach Ologbenla applauded the courage of the present state administration and assured that they will never let government down in the discharge of duties in the two departments

The establishment of Department of Information, Youth Sports, and Culture is expected to enhance promotion of youth development, cultural heritage, and information dissemination at the grassroots level.

As the department begins its operations, Osun State is poised to witness a new era of growth and development in these critical areas.
