Let’s Be Positive in our Utterances Towards our Country, There’s Power in the Tongue.-PCRC Chairman Advocates

PCRC National Chairman’s Message to Nigerians on 64th Independence Day Celebration …

The National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), *Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan* has called on Nigerians home and abroad to be mindful of their utterances towards the only country we can naturally call our own. In spite of the numerous challenges we have faced and still facing as a nation, most especially in the area of socioeconomic development, Alhaji Olaniyan called for caution in the way we describe and refer to our own country, noting that the power of life and death is the tongue.

For those with good conscience, it is of a fact that nearly all the challenges we have faced and still facing are not peculiar to Nigeria alone. As a matter of fact, many great nations that we are running to and claiming their citizenship today have once experienced the worst but yet, they survived it all because their citizens never gave up on their own country but instead, made positive confessions which were backed with personal commitments and constructive actions from the citizens.

While acknowledging the vital role of our security agencies, especially the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) which is currently being led by the highly sophisticated *IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Ph.D NPM* in nation building, the leading member of PCRC in Nigeria and diaspora, acknowledged the good job currently going on at the Force Public Relations Department under the meticulous watch of the Force PRO and PCRC National Permanent Secretary, *ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi* mnipr. He therefore *recommended Adejobi for National Honors for his giant strides in the Force Public Relations Department where he has constantly kept in touch and maintained very good communication standard with members of the public.*

Looking forward, the Mogaji Fosunpaja of Ibadan land expressed high optimism that Nigeria will scale through because it is a nation that is abundantly blessed with both human and natural resources. According to him, what we seriously need is that massive increase in the number of patriotic citizens who are ready and committed to ride with us on our journey to greatness no matter the challenges on the way.
