Hon Olaewe inaugurates Iwo West LCDA procurement committee,

In line with the circular letter 414/208 from the Osun State House of Assembly which mandated the government functionaries to acquaint themselves with the provisions of the Osun State Public Procurement Law and adherent to the principles of probity, accountability and transparency in the process as well as conformity with the laid down procedures and practices in the local government, the caretaker chairman of Iwo West Local Council Development Area, Hon Amoo Oyeniyi Olaewe has promised to follow the rules and regulations that guide the engagement of procurement of goods, works and services in his local government in accordance with the procurement law 2015 as amended in 2019 by the Osun State House of Assembly.
Hon Olaewe made the statement at the official inauguration of Iwo West LCDA procurement committee members at the office of the chairman recently.
Hon Oyeniyi in his speech, charged members of the committee to be committed to the procurement guidelines in their dealings with any request placed before the committee.
He urged the committee members to be united, hardworking, and operate purely in love in order to promote peace,progress and move the council forward in times of unimaginable achievements and distance themselves from contravening the Osun State Public Procurement Law.
The laws that guide the operations of the procurement committee in Iwo West was read by comrade Aderinwale Adegboyega Emmanuel the Director of procurement of goods, works and services to the members.
Each of them, one after the other expressed their satisfaction to be members of the committee and promised the attainment of transparency, competitiveness, guaranteed integrity and public trust in their public procurement procedures.
In order to live by his promise, honourable Amoo Olaewe approved the release of a long overdue payment for all procurement certificates for the smooth running of the office of the director of procurement and the committee in line with the directive contained in the circular letter No 61/VOL.11/221 signed by the Head of Service,Osun State,Mr Olaleye Aina.
Paragraph 5 of the circular mandated all the local government, LCDAs and Area Councils to “ensure there is Public Procurement Agency/ department certification of all procurement prior to, during and after the award of contracts, and in the procurement of goods, works and services
The committee members According to the section 28 of the law provides that, every financial year, each of procuring entity shall establish a procurement planning committee including
