Local Government Information Officers in Osun Align With Another Professional Body

Another History was made today as Information Officers in Osun State Service finally aligned with another Professional Body after being disengaged from Nigeria Union of Journalists.
The inauguration of Osun State Chapter of Fourth Estate Professional Society (FPS)held at Olorunda Local Government Secretariat, Igbonna, Osogbo, Osun State capital.
The National President of the society,Dr Babatunde Salami and the Secretary,Comrade Michael Olanrewaju presided over the inauguration and handing over of instrument of office to the Osun State Chapter Chairman, Dr Adedapo Owolabi.
The Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission,Barrister Adeoye Popoola charged information officers to be more committed to professionalism, not allowing the past experience to make them derail from performing their professional duties as expected.
He further assured them of support and maximum cooperation when needed
Dr. Salami,while administering the oath chronicled the rigorous experience faced before the society could be registered by Corporate Affairs Commission as a professional body.
He further assured members of life assurance benefits and Accident insurance.
The body has equally affiliated with university of Ibadan for training and retraining of members.
The former NUJ chairman of Ondo state,Comrade Adetona Aderoboye equally expressed his happiness over the development and assured the national executives of his readiness to work on other South West States for membership.
The incumbent chairman NUJ, Osun State council, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu expressed his appreciation for honouring him and promised to render necessary support to the new body when necessary.
The former Chairman, Forum of Director of Information and Community Development, Elder Dosu Fasina also commended the initiative and charged members to be more focused.
Prince Adebisi Popoola, A retired Coordinating Director Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation in the state preached for oneness and unity of purpose.
The first chairman of Local Government Information Chapel of NUJ in Osun and a public analyst,Comrade Lanre Fadahunsi commended the leadership of the society both at the state and national for coming out bold to play major roles in the field of the profession.He encouraged members to be focused.
While appreciating everyone , the new state chairman of the society Dr Adedapo Owolabi assured the national executives of better and quality representation. He charged members to be in oneness and unity of purpose while members should also abide with the ethics of journalism.
Other Executive members were Felix Olumide, as vice chairman, Adeoye Adegbohungbe Secretary, Ademola Salami Assistant Secretary, Oyewale Ramota financial Secretary, Azeezat Afolabi Treasurer and Isreal Olayanju as Auditor.
Comrade Aderinwale Adegboyega was equally decorated as the South West Coordinator.
