Adeleke’s Government sets to revive Osun State’s economy
....as preparation for Osun 2023 Trade Fair begins

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has reiterated the commitment of the present administration to revive the economy of the State which has been in an ‘Intensive Care Unit’.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo made this known at a stakeholders meeting organised in preparation for Osun 2023 Trade Fair, held at the conference room of the ministry.
Rev. Jenyo said aside the particular focus on agriculture and mining potentials of the State, the fair will stimulate business activities, attract foreign investors and change the narrative of the state from being a civil service to an industrialised state.
The Commissioner stated that the fair is an indication that the state is ready for proper economy and it is the time to grow our local governments economically.
He seeks for the support and cooperation of the stakeholders, adding that their participation is very germane to the success of the trade fair.
In his words, the President of Osun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OSUCCIMA), Dr. Olu Olujide, “Osun Trade Fair is one of the sustainable platforms to promote economic development of Osun State. It is a veritable and sustainable platform for Osun Nano, Small and Medium sized Enterprises (NSMEs), to place their goods and or services on display for current and prospective customers, suppliers and other interested businesses which promotes home grown value addition, including innovation and technology”.
He added that osun 2023 Trade Fair is a General Fair that will host general interest, create an inclusive sales environment for products, manage conferences and plenary sessions, and serves as Information Hub to enlighten both the visitors and exhibitors.
“The 2023 edition is Indeed a trade promotion platform which goes in line with Osun Government policy of promoting Trade and Investments in the State. The Fair will showcase the abundance of Osun agricultural products with value chain, plethora of mineral resources, and general goods and services produced in the State. Hence, the theme for 2023 Trade Fair is Unlocking the industrialization potentials of Osun State with focus on Agriculture, Mining, and Micro, Small & Medium Industries”, he said.
The Chairman House Committee on Commerce and Industry, Hon. Ajibola Olaide Kolawole lauded the initiative, describing the fair as a veritable avenue for stakeholders in agriculture and mining sectors for local government in the State to showcase their products and services to the world.
He added that the house committee is prepared to work and support them to achieve the purpose of the fair.
The ALGON Chairman, Hon.Sarafa Awotunde, on behalf of Council Chairmen, also promised to discharge their strategic roles in making the event a huge success.
The meeting had in attendance all Local Government Chairmen , Heads of Local Government Administration in the State, Permanent Secretary and other management team of the ministry of Commerce and Industry.
