Osun NIPR Holds Maiden Industry Awards

The Osun State Chapter of the Nigerian lnstitute of Public Relations(NIPR) held its maiden edition of lndustry Awards today.
At the award ceremony which held at the OSBC’s Hall(Open Forum), Oke-Baale,Osogbo, distinguished personalities across the State which included two front line monarchs received meritorious awards.

Adedokun Abolarin,
Aroyinkeye 1 and HRM, Oba (Dr) Abdulhamed Adekunle Makama, Tegboosun 11, Olowu of Kuta, the Paramount Ruler of Owu Kingdom received awards for promoting national unity and Yoruba culture respectively.
The National Vice President of NIPR Mr.Wale Adeniyi who is the Deputy Controller General of Nigeria Customs Service was at the occasion given award for being a pillar of support for the state chapter of the lnstitute.
Two former helmsmen of the state NIPR,Prince Wale Oyekanmi and Alhaji Adebisi Popoola also received awards while other personalities celebrated included Dr.Femi Adefila,Chief Executive Officer of Rave FM,Professor Abdulganiy Raji,former Resident Electoral Commissioner in Osun State,
Others are Professor Labode Popoola,former UNlOSUN Vice Chancellor, Mr.lsmail Omipidan, Chief Press Secretary to ex–Governor Gboyega Oyetola,Mrs Yemisi Opalola,PPRO,Osun State Police Command.Alhaji Rasheed Folaranmi,OSBC Director General and Dr.Rasheed Adebiyi,the immediate past Secretary of the institute in the State.
The Chairman of the professional body in the State, Mr Ademola Adesoji in his speech at the epoch-making event solicited for financial support from the awardees towards the actualization of the State chapter of the institute’s dream of building its own secretariat.
In a lecture delivered by the Public Relations Officer of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife, Mr. Biodun Olanrewaju, the Public Relations expert listed the qualities of a competent PR practitioner as diligence, smartness, bravery and courage adding that such must also be lively.
The lecturer commended the executives of Osun NIPR under the leadership of Mr Ademola Adesoji for their wonderful performances since they came on board about a year ago saying that the elders of the institute in the state are proud of them.
While appreciating all the awardees,Mr Adenitan Akinola, Chairman of the planning committee encouraged all awardees to see the award as a call to do more to the society and promote the course of the institute.
