NEAPS: Former President Charges National Assembly on good Local Government Administration.

... as he bemoans Non Inclusion of Local Government Chairman among award recepients.

Former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has expressed his dissatisfaction on non inclusion of at least one of the Local Government Chairmen,teachers or medical personnel in the list of this year’s awardees of Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service(NEAPS).

He expressed his dissatisfaction while making his remark after receiving peace Award from President Mohammadu Buhari.

“We have 36 states and 16 governors are on this list, I ask myself out of 774 local Governments, not even one chairman is honoured” he lamented.

Dr Jonathan therefore urged the National Assembly to address the matter by looking into the structures and functions of Local Government.

Buhari conferred Excellence Award on 44 Nigerians where 16 Governors,5 Ministers, service chiefs and other distinguished Nigerians in Abuja on friday including the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan;Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila.

The Nigerian Excellence Award in Public Service is an award that recognises and rewards innovation, purposeful leadership and other exceptional deserving individuals that have contributed immensely to the growth and development of the public service and the country at large.
